How do I send a file?
  1. Select someone from your contact list by clicking the 'To' button, or you can type in their email address. Names must be semi-colon separated, as in 'Paul; Todd; jenny@jenny.com'. You do not need a semi colon at the end of your list of recipients.
  2. Use your default Access Code listed or type in a different access code for this transfer.
  3. Use the default Subject line or type in a different one for this transfer.
  4. Click attach, click Select, choose your file(s) and click OK.
  5. Type in a message for the recipient if you wish. Click Send.
  6. Inform the recipient of your transfer what the Access Code is for this transfer. They can not download the file without it. To retain security, you should give them the Access Code via phone or text.

How does my recipient download a file?

They will receive an email with a link to click. That will bring them to the SendCryption receiving page where they will insert the Access Code you provided them. At that point, they will be able to download the file(s).

What is the difference between sending Files or Messages?

Choosing the Files option allows you to attach files you'd like to securely send, a sensitive spreadsheet, for example. Choosing Message allows you to type and securely send an encrypted message only, a bank account or social security number, for example.

I sent a file to someone but they say they didn’t receive the email notification. What should I do?

First, tell them to check their bulk, spam or junk folder. If it is not there, you can log into your SendCryption page, click on the History icon up top, click on Contact Detail next to that transfer, and click ‘Resend Email’.

What is the Access Code?

The Access Code is the code that enables decryption of your transfers. Your recipients can not download your files unless you provide them with the Access Code. SendCryption HIGHLY recommends you give this code to them via phone or text to retain security integrity.

What does Receive Notification mean?

Receive Notification means that you will receive an email notifying you each time any recipient downloads any file you send them.

On my History page, what do the Active and Expired columns mean?

All files sent through SendCryption remain on SendCryption’s servers for 30 days. If they are still Active, you can download them yourself and the person you sent the files to can still download them. If they are Expired, they are no longer available for you or the recipient.
